Welcome to 2020 and the Kariong Glyphs are still very very fake despite dozens of amatuer Indiana Jones types, conmen and tin foil enthusiasts constructing various web sites and home made YouTube videos not one institution has taken anyone seriously anywhere.
That's because way back in 1984 somebody already did that....
Photos taken of the glyphs in 1984 were shown to Australia's top Egyptologist Professor Nageeb Kanawiati - BA Alexandria, MA Alexandria, PhD Macquarie, FAHA, FRSN,Professor of Egyptology.
Professor Nageeb Kanawiati is Egyptian born and has written around 40 books and articles on the subject and is one of the few archaeologists permitted to work on Egyptian sites.
Professor Nageeb Kanawiati says the carvings at Kariong are not legitimate and are poorly executed by amateurs.
And that's it - you wont get a higher appraisal from anyone more educated, and since then many experts have agreed.
It's been nearly 50 years since the discovery by locals and around 35 years since they appeared in the media, 35 years since various institutions like the Egyptology Dept Macquarie University in Sydney, the London Museum and the Museum of Antiquities in Cairo were informed of the existence of these carvings in the Australian bush and the world's history has still not been re-written.
So to bring you up to speed - the Kariong carvings are still poor attempts at Egyptian writing that makes no sense at all.
The carvings were done in the last 50 years by up to 3 different parties, the last person caught carving in the cleft was in 1983.
There are no burial chambers or tombs or any other non Aboriginal rockwork at the site.
There were no Egyptians in Australia ever. There is not one scrap of legitimate evidence to suggest that there was or even capable of getting here.
The people pushing the "Egyptians did it agenda" still have absolutely no qualifications in any field relevant to Egyptology and some have a vested monetary interest in pushing their agendas - if there is a payment portal on your favourite conspiracy / pseudoarchaeology website / YouTube channel you are being conned.
The is no government cover up or conspiracy, the government knows, all the top museums in the world know and none of them care ....
A recent midnight message from a Tracey Smith of Kincumber NSW confirms that the glyphs hoax continues to confound those who believe in fairy tales....
Tracey describes herself on her Facebook profile as:
I'm a weekend Paleontologist,Anthropologist and Archaeologist, full time weirdo and earth mother

Which of course means she has no qualifications at all much like all of the proponents of the Kariong Glyphs hoax, but first let's read her amusing midnight rant

<span style="font-family: "helvetica neue" , "segoe ui" , "helvetica" , "arial" , sans-serif;">Steve , just an update after our talks on the Nepean Stella that you debunked.
Just letting you know , my husband and I just purchased a copy from the Kunst museum in Viena.
We placed it beside the Nepean stella and YES they are exactly alike. But, a few differences which we will be releasing soon. No Steve Strong will not be a part of thisas it was his stuff ups with the continuous errors in the story which caused the continuous accusations of fraud.
We are having it professionally tested inside and out, and I have no doubt in my mind Steve you will be eating your debunking story.
I hope you will be onboard to do that soon as we present it , to which we will be giving you a front row seat...
We are very excited and without the debunking we would never have known about the other one which honestly hasnt bothered us at all, it just opens a can of worms.
Cheers Buddy
Will be chatting with you soon
<span style="font-family: "helvetica neue" , "segoe ui" , "helvetica" , "arial" , sans-serif;">
Tracey has mistaken me for Denis Gojack who debunked the Nepean Stela over a year ago , even Strong himself pulled down his article about after ridicule from inside his own camp but it gets better..
Tracey is the person who found this modern day replica and gave it to Strong to analyse and obviously not happy with his appraisal has now gone off on her own misguided search for the "truth"
Evidently this tablet is to be professionally tested and startling revelations will be presented to one and all by this surburban mother, we can hardly wait and yes save me a plate and a front row seat
When researching the origin on the Kariong Hieroglyphs I have come across several quotes from experts saying that the glyphs seem to been have copied from a modern publication of the Egyptian language , years ago it was discussed on the QI forum in the UK and an expert on ancient languages weighed in .....

My conclusion was these Australian glyphs were perpetrated by person(s) with more enthusiasm than knowledge sometime in the late 70s, early 80, using the cheap Dover edition of Sir Wallis Budge's Hieroglyphic Dictionary - which one should note contains no Egyptian grammar or orthography.
Years ago on the Fortean list I was asked to look at the Australian
Hieroglyphs for the group. I was given transcriptions based on tracings.
I concluded it was done by an English speaker with a shallow acquaintance of Hieroglyphics and here's the 5 reasons why.
1: There are numerous canonical errors (the serekh is a real mess and the image of Anubis is not in Egyptian proportions) and numerous orthographic errors, and the whole thing is crudely done. None of these things excludes an Ancient Egyptian author (Lord knows they left some right messes behind them on occasion) but the plethora of errors suggests otherwise.
2: All Egyptian sentences begin with a verb followed by suffixes to indicate subject. No such constructions were present, rather they followed English syntax with verbs placed midsentence.
3: Whomever wrote this assumed a class of hieroglyph called determinatives (a semantic clarifiers of the preceding phonetic section) were a ideographs that stood for the thing without a phonetic element. They then used these determinatives as logographs: a common error with modern beginners but not one a literate native Egyptian could have made.
Then I was shown photographs - and that changed everything: inarguable proof beyond doubt this was a modern hoax.
4: There were glyphs present that were not in use until the Middle and New Kingdoms.
AND
5: Palaeographically, glyphs were drawn in different ways in different eras, so at a glance one can tell which era the text was written it.
And this ladies and gentlemen is the nail in the sarcophagus.
The Australian glyphs were in a style known as "Budgite" which is to say they were drawn in the style of the Hieroglyphic Font simplified and designed by Sir Wallis Budge for his Hieroglyphic dictionary in the early part of the 20th Century - style that never existed in Egypt.
1920. An Egyptian Hieroglyphic Dictionary, With an Index of English Words, King List and Geographical List with Index, List of Hieroglyphic Characters, Coptic and Semitic Alphabets, etc.. (London: John Murry. Reprinted New York: Dover Publications., 1978)

As you can see the Dover edition was printed in 1978 which is in the right era to fit into the timeline of events , even the original copy printed in 1920 could be valid but the cheaper, smaller Dover edition was used by local schools as a reference book.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6119225172377072190.post-68592244990897082502015-01-11T15:26:00.000-08:002015-01-11T21:03:55.043-08:00A conspiracy of archaeologists? This will be the " end all " of speculation about the glyphs , the author Denis Gojack is currently doing a PHD on pseudo archaeology in Australia and has already sunk a few of the common old stories about various races visiting our shores
So sit back , fold up that tin foil hat and read on !
Another common statement made by Kariong fringe theorists about so called reports of boomerangs being found in ancient tombs in Egypt.
Boomerang is the term used by Australians for the weapon used by Australian Aborigines, it is derived from the Aboriginal word wo-mur-ang which dates from 1798.
The lightweight weapon was used by many cultures and is described as a "throwing stick" outside of Australia, throwing sticks of similar shapes were used by the American Indians, Egyptians, Africans and even in Poland.
The throwing sticks found in Egyptian royal tombs are Egyptian objects, the Egyptians used throwing sticks as melee weapons in battle and for hunting birds and water fowl.

There are numerous depictions of Egyptians using throwing sticks for hunting in Egyptian art and there have been many ornamental throwing sticks found in royal tombs including the tomb of Tutankhamen.

Conclusion
The existence of similar weapons in Egypt and Australia prove no connection, the Australian Aborigine is one of the few cultures that did not develop the bow and arrow which was a primary weapon of the Egyptians and they certainly did not use any metal weapons, throwing sticks evolved into similar shapes in different cultures just like the spear and shields for example.
The statement made by fringe theorists is another throw away theory that when examined has no factual basis.

One of the common statements made by the fringe theorists about the Kariong Glyphs is the story of Australian kangaroo fossils or bones being dug up in Egypt in 1982 - 84 near Fayum.
This story is told to help bolster the Australia - Egypt connection theories but falls short on being documented anywhere checkable.
It is true that archaeologists found marsupial fossils at Fayum in 1981 and 82 but these were from the Oligocene period which dates them at 20 to 33 million years old , the creature found was related to the possum family and no mention of kangaroos was made in the report that came out in 1984
You can read the announcement of Africa's first marsupial fossil find here
The only mention of kangaroo fossils being found are on the usual Rex Gilroy and other fringe theory websites , they all mention Fayum and the period of 1982 - 84, so it seems that someone has got over excited with the word " marsupial " being mentioned and has embelished the story somewhat.
It is possible that when the find was reported in the Cairo Times the author may have mentioned kangaroos as an example of a marsupial but there are no records available to check.

There are records of Australian kangaroos in Egypt, these and other Australian animals were mascots held by Australian troops in 1914 while camped near the pyramids at Mena camp.
I have posted this famous photo from the Australian War Memorial that shows a kangaroo mascot kept by the 10th Division above.
All mascot animals were reportedly given to the Cairo Zoo before troops left for the Gallipoli campaign.

Conclusion
Marsupial fossils were found at Fayum in 1981 and 1982 , these were the first African marsupial fossils ever discovered.
No reliable record of Australian kangaroo fossils or bones being unearthed in Egypt exists , reports of such on fringe theory websites are unsubstantiated.
